Our members are primarily college students attending universities and community colleges, initially throughout the metro Detroit area, and now nationwide. As a direct result of fundraising efforts and generous contributions from the community, AASO has been able to help dozens of students to further their higher education through the Gjergj Kastrioti Scholarship (GKS). The AASO has taken part in both political and economical relief efforts for Albanians in Albania, Kosova, Macedonia, Montenegro, and abroad as well as community enrichment programs such as volunteering and event planning within our own cities here in the US. The AASO takes pride in its efforts to enrich the Albanian community through intellectual enlightenment and social involvement.
